Fund Drive

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Irondequoit Ambulance has come a long way from our modest beginnings in a school on Norran Drive to our current base on Norton Street. Ambulances donated by the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs gave us our start. Today we have three ambulances and a fly car and are the only Advanced Life Support Service (ALS) in Irondequoit. As a result we are in a position to offer ALS services to our neighboring agencies whenever needed.
I am proud to have personally been part of IA's history from the begining and observed the many changes that have occured. Change is never easy but every change IA has made was to ensure that you always receive the best pre-hospital care possible and continue to receive the benefits of a hometown ambulance that provides many community services over and above emergency transports.
I know many of you question why billing is necessary and yet we still come to you for addistional support. Understand that IA is still managed and staffed by Volunteers but assisted by Career Personnel. However, with operational needs dictated by modern medical procedurs and devices along with the addition of career staff to supplement the volunteeers, IA cannot meet all our operational needs without your support. We also continue to be the only emergency service in Irondequoit that does not receive tax revenue from the town.
We are grateful to our legislators service clubs and private individuals who have generously supported us down through the years. Most of all though, we are grateful to you , our residents, for your continued generosity during our annual Fund drive appeal. We hope that this year we can again count on you for your support.
Thank you for your contribution.
